Why do we have a picture of dog collars all piled in a heap?

Because this picture was taken by a shelter worker and these collars all belong to the dogs that were euthanized in a single week in one gassing shelter.

For every ONE dog adopted, there are ONE HUNDRED more euthanized in a shelter.

Have your pet spayed and neutered and help control the pet population. Don't breed or buy while pets in shelters die.
