Description:Mama Spice nursed 7 kittens that were not even her own! Doesn't a great mom like this deserve the best home ever?
Spice came into the shelter with just one kitten; two days later, two kittens were dropped off that were so young they needed to be bottle fed- so one of the volunteers put them with momma Spice. She nursed them. Just days later three more kittens came in needing nursing... momma nursed them too.... and so the story goes. EIGHT kittens later.
What a good mama! She accepted all those kittens that weren't hers! Now THIS is a cat that deserves a good home!
Mama Spice is a purr-factory! She is a quiet cat who is looking for a very special home. She loves to sit on your lap and be held and petted. She was adopted out to a family who loved her, but the family was much too active for spice (a very active toddler and a baby) and Spice hid a lot from all the excitement. Spice proved that she was very motherly, because when the mom of the house would wake up in the wee morning hours to feed the baby, Spice would sit quietly next to her and purr away gently. However, the activity during the day was a bit overwhelming and she often tucked herself away in tiny corners and under furniture to hide.
We think Spice would be best in a quiet home with someone who is patient and perhaps lives alone or has no children.
Momma Spice is spayed, has rabies and vaccinations, and has tested negative for FIV/FeLV, has been dewormed, flea treated, and comes with a free first vet visit to a participating vet of your choice.
We are not asking for an adoption fee for Spice- just a warm house to let her live out her days. Since she's not an "in your face, pet me!" kind of cat, we are really just looking for a home where she can hang out in and call her own; a sanctuary, if you will. If you can give Spice that kind of loving home, with food, water and love- then she's the cat for you. Remember, she's fully vetted!
*** It is in the adoption contract that any cat adopted from BDSC CANNOT be de-clawed. If you are looking to de-claw your cat, please look to adopt a cat from our rescue that has already been de-clawed by a previous owner. Sorry for any inconvenience.
